The different kinds of kitchen faucets that are available increase daily. Some innovative new kitchen faucets don’t even turn on with a handle, but rather sense a user’s touch to turn on and off. This is so very handy when your hands are covered with food. For a more antique look, wall mounted faucets are a possibility.

One new kitchen faucet design involves spouts that can be removed, and used to clean dishes or the sink itself thanks to an attached hose. The pull out spouts actually use less water, and they’re easier on you. The hose wand is also designed to be easy to dock and won’t slip out of place. These faucets use less water, but can create good water pressure with the help of innovative diamond seal technology.

With a coating of diamond, your kitchen faucet can last through many years of use. Potentially bad tasting metal elements are kept out of your water supply with the diamond coating, too.

Single hole installation on some of the newer designs permits a much cleaner look for your faucet, and it is now common for newer styles to feature faucets that have a much better clearance for filling pots and the like. These are referred to as high arc spouts.

The design of your faucet needs to work with your kitchen, first and foremost. If your kitchen has an antique design, older, farmhouse-inspired designs might be a good choice. New finishes like burnished bronze can give a unique look to a faucet that stainless steel and chrome can’t provide. Your faucet can be the elegant centerpiece of a kitchen that looks professionally designed!

Your kitchen faucet’s finish can completely change its look and dynamic. You may decide on a finish of copper, or black for a more modern look. Would you like a brushed look on a classic nickel finish? Would a polished brass or brushed nickel finish fit your decor? Another big design is polished chrome. Biscuit-colored finishes can create an interesting effect. It’s your choice!

Older style faucets that are installed on a wall mount are still available. This gives your kitchen a wonderful ‘retro look’ that is hard to beat!

Another new type of kitchen faucet is popularly known as a “pot filler”. Some old faucets could cause their users to spill water when tilting a large pot that was being filled, but the jointed design of pot fillers prevents this problem from ever occurring. A typical spout can’t reach as far, usually only 20.5 inches.

Even decorator styled faucets now feature items such as one-piece ceramic valves. Hard water and debris can accumulate in a faucet, but the valves prevent this. These types of faucets are extremely simple to clean. Another design to look for is an in-faucet temperature limit, which can save your hands from burns.
